The Texas hotel development pipeline is led by upscale and upper midscale projects, which together account for 148 of the 257 projects currently tracked by Lodging Development, combining for more than 18,200 rooms. Upper upscale projects add another 37 properties totaling over 7,200 rooms, while 12 luxury-class developments contribute roughly 2,060 rooms to the pipeline.
Among the projects currently tracked by Lodging Development, the 1,000-room Circuit of the Americas Hotel & Convention Center in Austin is one of the largest, being developed by RIDA Development Corp. and currently in the planning stage. The 507-room Loews Americana Hotel in Arlington, developed by Loews Hotels, has reached final planning. Notable transactions during the period include the sale of The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center, a 402-room Curio Collection property acquired by Ascendant Capital Partners in late 2025. Ascendant also purchased the 205-room Embassy Suites Woodlands at Hughes Landing in the same period. LXMI Capital acquired the 200-room NYLO Las Colinas Hotel, Tapestry Collection.
