Charlotte Metro Hotel Development & Construction Pipeline

Lodging Development is tracking 28 hotel projects totaling 3,656 rooms in the Charlotte metro area, with upscale and upper-midscale properties forming the backbone of the pipeline at nine and six projects, respectively. The most prominent project among those tracked is the 295-room Charlotte South End Hotel, an Autograph Collection property in construction from White Lodging Services Corp. Also advancing are the 148-room Homewood Suites Charlotte Airport, developed by Naman Hotels, and the 123-room Hyatt Studios Charlotte City Park from MJM Real Estate Group, both in final planning. A single luxury hotel and four upper-upscale projects appear in the pipeline as well, though they represent a smaller share of overall activity. The 95-room Avid Charlotte Airport, under construction by Inner Quest Management, reflects continued midscale development.

Lodging Development has tracked six hotel openings in the Charlotte metro area over the past 24 months, adding 881 rooms to the market. The most recent, the 124-room Hilton Garden Inn Steele Creek Charlotte, opened in late summer 2026. The 208-room Moxy Charlotte Downtown and the 184-room dual-branded Home2 Suites | Tru by Hilton Concord Charlotte opened in mid- and late 2025, respectively, representing the largest properties to debut in the window. Rounding out recent openings are three WoodSpring Suites extended-stay properties in Northlake, Arrowood, and near the airport, each adding just over 120 rooms to the market's economy segment.
