Upper midscale development follows with seven projects and 862 rooms, while four upper upscale projects contribute 820 rooms. Recent Charlotte Metro Hotel Openings

Six hotels totaling 847 rooms have opened across the Charlotte metro area over the past 24 months. The most recent addition is the 122-room WoodSpring Suites Charlotte Northlake, an economy extended-stay property that opened in early March 2026. Among upper midscale openings, the 208-room Moxy Charlotte Downtown debuted in mid-2025, followed by the 184-room dual-branded Home2 Suites and Tru by Hilton Concord Charlotte in late November 2025. Lodging Development has tracked 23 hotel transactions of $10 million and above across the Charlotte metro area over the 18-month period ending January 2026. Among deals with reported pricing, total documented sale prices reached approximately $150.9 million across 10 transactions. In recent transaction activity, the 152-room Sonesta Select Charlotte University Research Park sold for $10.5 million in September 2025, with Laxmi Hotels Group as the buyer. The 161-room Wyndham Garden Charlotte Executive Park traded for $10 million in October 2025, while Milan Real Estate acquired the 90-room Courtyard Charlotte Lake Norman for approximately $8.9 million. Paragon Hotel Company purchased the 94-room Courtyard Salisbury for roughly $7.9 million in December 2025. An additional 10 transactions include recorded loan data but no disclosed sale prices, and three transactions lack sufficient public data for valuation.
